Firing/transfering a maid

By Minoush

We have had an Ethiopian maid for 11 months. She is not working out and we need to get rid of her. She wants to be transfered but we have heard that if we transfer her, we will not be able to get a visa for another maid.

I need solid answers as we need to do this quickly.

Who can we contact for real answers?

Of course our maid is saying we can get another visa, but I'm sure she is saying this so we won't send her home.

Thanks

I have a different solution for you. Why dont you have her trained, then she knows what is expected of her and how to do her job good. the program includes to teach them manners and a good work attitude. would you be interested you can email me for details: [email protected]

If you decide to completly fire her and dont want to try the training program, you will be able to change the sponsorship and be able to take someone else again. You will receive a pink slip from the immigration office, and you need to keep that copy for your next application.

Please do try the training. I might be able to help you both.

Thank you, does it matter how long she has been living with us? She claims that since she was a local hire she can't be sent home before 12 months.

Any truth to this??

If you transfer her you will NOT get another maid visa. If you cancel her visa and send her home, you can apply for another maid visa with your current salary certificate from your employer and it will be granted in 3 days without any problem. I have gone through this procedure in the last 3 weeks so I am 100% sure about this. make sure that the current maids visa is cancelled before she leaves the country
