Filexpat marriage process-Need help
To my fellow kabayans, I appreciate your help on this:
My fiance'and I have agreed on getting married here in Qatar. However, we believe that he can only be granted with a tourist visa since we are not married yet.(Please let me know if I have the right understanding on this)
We cannot opt for a business visa since it is for employment/business purposes only. Knowing how hard it is to land a job abroad from the Phils. it will take him forever before he could go here.
This is how we have planned to get it done:
He comes here as a tourist (with the docs required)and then we'll get married here so he'll be granted with a Spouse/Family visa or whatsoever in order to prolong his stay and look for a job. I was told that Tourist Visa permits a short period of stay and that wont be enough in hunting a job.
How long does getting a marriage license take?Is it possible to have it done in civil?
I dont think we can just get married right away when he gets here. Thats what I am clueless about..If only theres someone who has/had the same situation as I do,it would be great to get an idea on this.
I appreciate all your comments that would be really helpful to enlighten me and understand the process better.

kabayan, you should both have CENOMAR first before getting married here...ask your partner to get a copy in NSO, as well as your BC. it should be authenticated. visit our embassy, for further info or send me PM...
Dear, as advised please check with the embassy. Your circumstances are not the usual. Your guy will come with tourist visa. The embassy is the best place to ask if it is first of all possible, secondly what are the requirements and lastly how long the procedure is. Please listen to the people who replied to your post last week, check with the embassy.
my advice to u kabayan, go to our embassy and get the requirements nd procedure to be sure. becoz there is a verification period for both of your status' and then need to post it for sometime before the actual marriage. they will advice you if the period of visit visa/ tourist visa is enough to cover the completion of ur wedding and filing of your sponsorship to ur fiance. otherwise ur situation will be more complicated.
