is it possible to have a free lance visa if my visa is family visit visa? if yes,how is the processing?

My wife is on a tourist visa currently with me. Can i apply for a residency or visit visa while she is still in Doha or she needs to exit out of the country.

As i understand tourist visa cannot be converted to residency

Also which would be a better option in terms of saving time to get a visa - a visit visa which is later converted to residency or a direct residency visa .

I would very much appreciate the feedback of the forum members

I just went to immigration today to apply for visa for my wife i have all the docs but they are looking for the house rent contract im just renting a room...can anybody tell me is it necessary that the contract is under my name?tnx

you cannot work on family visit visa. it is illegal. Plus, as TB mentioned, there is no such thing like free lance visa.
