Family Visa
I would like to find out whether anyone has gone through this or has way that may able to help me
I have been offered a role in Doha and I just found out that I need to travel separately from my family. Since I have a small child and long travel time which can be hard for my wife and child, hence I am seeking the possibility for the 3 of us to travel together. Both myself and daughter are traveling on Aust passports hence we can pick up visa at arrival, however my wife needs to apply for visitor visa here in Aust before departure.
Can she apply for visitor visa without sponsorship, as my residency permit will be arranged by the host company.
Thanking you in advance
Hi Everyone

You all can apply for a visit visa which lasts for 1 month. Once in, under your company’s sponsorship you will start the Residency permit process. As your wife and daughter will have no sponsorship then, they will need to renew it. This is normally called a visa run. My wife and child did this through my company without the need to leave, but check first.
Normally you are not allowed to enter Qatar without a return ticket to the country of origin, on a visit visa. If during your residency process it is clear you are not going to get it with one month, It normally takes about 3 weeks, book a return ticket in case. With Qatar Airways you can pay a little more for added flexibility for arrangement changes. I booked a ticket for my wife this way and we cancelled it when we found out we didn’t need it. We got a full refund. Once you start the process of the residency for your wife and child it doesn’t matter if their visa’s run out.
One thing that is worth pointing out though, is if you need to extend the visit visa your child, even if they are under two, requires this also. My daughter who is eighteen month had to pay 5000 Riyals as her visa expired for a month. The government changed the rules two months after we arrived. So we had to pay this at the airport when we tried to leave for a holiday or she couldn’t travel.
Good luck
Sure, she can apply for a visit visa at Qatar Embassy providing the proof of your offer (travel to Qatar) and a copy of marriage contract is required with the application. Once yore residency permit is stamped her visa could also be converted into a residence permit under your sponsorship.
Welcome to Qatar.
Hey Carl
Mind if I ask what type of job and pay you been offered. I was thinking along the lines of moving myself.
Cheers
