expired work visa to family visa?
I have a cousin working here in Doha Qatar with her husband. They have different employer and both are under working visa. They got married here and they already have 6 months old baby. Last September when my cousin's employer tried to renew her visa the immigration told them to transfer her to husband sponsor which is impossible because the salary of her husband is only 2500. I need to clarify some info and for those who experienced the same situation like my cousin feel free to give your comments and suggestions:
1. Can my cousin be transferred to husband sponsor even if she earns 7000? Do they considered combined salary of husband and wife to earn husband sponsorship?
2. Can my cousin be transferred to husband sponsorship even her current visa is 4 months expired now?
3. If granted the husband sponsorship, it is required that my cousin should exit from the country of origin?
It can be happen here in qatar especially if you have qatari friend, most of them are kind and good and you should be happy also for your cousin and her family.
In response to your post:
1. She cannot be transferred to husband sponsorship with 2500 salary, and no, combined salary is not applied.
2. You cannot transfer a visa that is expired. You need to renew it prior to transfer to another sponsor.
3. If ever you are lucky enough to be approved, you do not need to exit.
If the husband's salary is only 2500 the possibility of transfer is very difficult. Now a days they are rejecting even application of some people who are getting more than 10k.
madrat, Is it Human Affairs who are transferring visas now a days?
YES,
You only need a reference to the ID of their SST slip and if you take it to the ministry of human affairs next to the KAM tower in downtown, they can issue you the transfer in no time.
Thanks
