Hello everyone, i am coming to Doha soon from South Africa and i beleive that once i am there i need an exit permit to leave, does anyone know what this means. Can i visit Dubai without an exit permit, i know i cant come to South Africa with out a permit????
Dear Qatarisun; i need your assistance in a matter bcz u look quite familiar with all these laws. One of my colleague just came to Qatar 2 days ago on a Job Visa but he found that his previous job was much better than the job here in Doha Qatar. He is thinking to re-join it bcz he still has option to do it. Can he go back without exit permit? OR he will have to go through all the procedure for stamping R.P. on his passport and then acquire an exit permit and say Good-Bye to the company after reaching at his home country. Please help.
I am an IT professional .earlier, when my company wanted more people to be added to the workforce, i started canvasing my friends to attend the interviews..99 % of the told me that , they don't prefer to work in a country which will let the employer to play around with the freedom of employees to move around. It seemed that the more talented they are, the more they were against attending the interview.
rest of the story is removed due to undisclosed reasons...
what I didn't tell was "I went to his office every day and asked him, he simply told me that it is not approved/rejected" . so he gets what he deserves.
and when the law is giving one such privilege to such people, it has everything to do with exit permit rule. I know what he did when the ball was in his court. and I will make sure that he will learn how it has to be handled next time when the ball is in MY court.
you had to follow up with your manager, who simply forgot about your application. You have to follow up EVERYTHING here in Qatar. You come to someone's office, you discuss things, you agree about everything.. as soon as you leave the office and shut a door, the person forgets about you and your entire conversation at the very same moment.
Solution? Keep following up every 2-3 hours, bother him, annoy him, until you get what you want..
And THIS issue has nothing to do with the exit permit rule.
Hello there Sunilsadanandan, so thankful for giving some advice on me... Actually i was not banned because i was under of CID when i won the case, they said that i can come back anytime but the only thing i wasn't yet clarify if if ever i can get visit visa and find some job do u think i can able to transfer if to working visa? hi my friend, well come to world of stupidity. Everything here is upside down. you need an exit permit when you go out of this country once you become a work permit holder. this against human values, but don't try to teach them. it'll some more years to understand. Good luck.
Kelly... if you are coming on work visa.. then for sure every time u leave the country u need to have exit permit from your sponsor...solution is you can get exit permit for one year 500 QR one time charge.
Secondly if you want to visit Dubai.. then it depends on whats your designation on the work visa.. there is s list of designation who can get on arrival visa in UAE and other GCC countries..
luvit.. I think in Qatar you have an automatic ban for 2 years.. so you can not work.. but if you wud have got a release from your previous sponsor mean no objection letter then you cud work... still you can check with few more people..
Hello Everyone here in QL... I am Kabayan and I was working in Doha, Qatar for 2 years and 5 months in a company, It was terrible for me because my sponsor was not giving Health Insurance, Salary Increase, Overtime all of them none, I was just force to finish my contract for personal reason... After then when i reached 2 years and 5 months i decided to get my vacation and telling about to my sponsor and asking some advices in Qatar Labour Law about my case because i wanted also to change my sponsor if ever or i can get my benefits in our company for past 2 years that i was not able to get b4... To make my story shorter When i file to the Labour Case against my sponsor I won the case and my sponsor payed me for my benifits... Then now my Question is I can still get back from Qatar for visit visa for example and if i can get there I can find work and transfer into working visa? it is possible.. As of now i am here in Philippines for almost 2 months... Thanks for reading it and hoping that you can give some good and honest answers to me.. It will be grateful and appreciated to me.. God Bless Everyone!!!
My Nanny have a Kadama visa under Qatari sponsor unfortunately our family decided to go back from the Philippines for good. Because our house maid arrived in Doha last August she is still in the process of getting an R.P my question is If you have a copy of Resident I.D of the sponsor can you get an exit permit in Immigration if ever she get her R.P? How to process an exit permit under kadama visa I see the exit permit form in MOI but there are several information that I'm not sure to fill -up.
After stamping my Qatar RP, if UAE is stamping my UAE RP also, is it wrong? Because, I have my Father's Business in UAE also and I want to be at UAE on all my holidays only. I am ready to pay QR. 500=00 to my Employer to get Multiple-Exit Permit. Please give the correct advise.
Hi -- I was told by an experienced expat to buy my own exit permits somewhere/somehow and therefore not have to rely on the employer to furnish them -- anyone do this or know about this?
The exit permit procedure is going to be computerized with the application made online at the e-government portal by the employer/sponsor. Theoretically it means employee informs employer of wish to travel, info is then sent online to airport/border immigration and all you do is show up.
Noteworthy is that the National Human Rights Committee called last year for reforms in exit permit rules for expatriate workers in the state. Nothing has been heard about that since then.
Sadly Beast, it results from expatriates abusing the system i.e. "doing a runner" and leaving massive bills behind. It became necessary for employers to cover their backsides.
Telephone bills of several thousand QR have been left in the past.
Obviously it is still possible to "do a runner" but the company will at least know that you are going.
Even if you obtain your company's agreement to a particular leave period. It has been known on the past for this permission to be withdrawn if the situation (operational requirements) changes closer to the date of your leave.
I know at least two people in the past who had their leave cancelled even though they had an exit permit. One was pulled out of the departure lounge by the authorities when waiting to board a flight with his family.
In case of emegencies (family bereavement)in which a permit is required urgently, many of the larger companies hold approved permits for use in such instances. It is at times like this that working for a well organised outfit pays dividends.
It's the employer's decision whether you get an annual or regular (trip-by-trip basis) exit permit. Don't even think about doing all the paperwork yourself or you might end up speechless/depressed for quite a while.
its really upto them how many exit permits they allow you... maybe they dont want you flying out every weekend to dubai :)
but as i said earlier, try and push them for a multi exit visa valid for one year.
sorry, im not familiar with work visas, i worked for six months on a visit visa before my RP, flying out to dubai every fortnight and coming back on a new visit visa.
Basically it is strange over here it is to say you have to have their permission to leave as they are your sponsors! Sorry!!! Yes have heard of it but having no children myself i donot know what they are like some one else might have an idea and post something for you!
I am Coming to work for the English Modern School, ever heard of it? Please say yes. They did mention that it was a lot of paper work for them so you probally right, company policy. Could i apply myself and do all the paper work or do they have to do it?
You can not work on a visit visa really so a business visa is the way forward and that has to be done by them but i would ask them and get it clear that you will comming on a business visa first!
An Annual exit permit allows you to travel as much as you want. However some companies process exit permits on a trip by trip basis. Those permits are valid for a week from the issue date.
No on a business visa you can fly out as many times as you wish so that just might be a company thing iam on a business visa and so are three of my friends one being a south african like yourself and we fly out for weekends all the time!
It could be because it is a pain in the bum and alot of paper work for them that they are saying only one exit! But if you have an emergency they you are also allowed
Well too late to back out, looks like i will just have to stay there. Was actually wanting to work and play. Looks like i will just be working.... Surely it cant be bad as you make it sound. I feel like i am going to go into a prison.
So you will be on a business visa until your RP comes through all you have to do is tell your company when you are going and they will apply for a exit visa which is just a piece of paper really saying you are allowed to go and they will also get you the entrance visa for when you come back!
You can go wher you like just remember to check if you need a visa for the other countries you wish to visit!
Also make sure they have done your business visa before you fly out so it is sorted for when you land!
getinandstayin sorry to say but it is not only on a Residence permit but also a business visa. So it really depends on if kelly is coming over to work or to play so to say!
you only need an exit permit once you have got a Residence Permit (RP). The exit permit is given to you by your RP sponsor. It can be issued per trip, however, i advise you to get a one year multi exit.
Your biggest problem being you have a south african passport my friend is in the same boat! If you are on a business visa then the answer is yes if you want to leave the country you HAVE to have a exit visa if you are on a visit visa then no you do not but you will need a visa to get into Dubai!

You can't buy an exit permit.
Your sponsor/employer must approve your exit permit.

It doesn't work dweller and for that reason it should be scrapped.
I am entitled to go to Bahrain, Dubai etc for the weekend. I go a lot with work as well. They still make me get an exit permit every time.
If I wanted to do a runner I would just get a normal pass for the weekend to Bahrain then get a flight to London from there.
It is a needless inconvenience that helps no one.
Sadly Beast, it results from expatriates abusing the system i.e. "doing a runner" and leaving massive bills behind. It became necessary for employers to cover their backsides.

About time such practice is abandoned....
UAE, Bahrain and Oman have scrapped it long time ago.

only your company can issue the permit. you really cant do any of the application process except asking your sponsor to issue you with one.
It's the employer's decision whether you get an annual or regular (trip-by-trip basis) exit permit. Don't even think about doing all the paperwork yourself or you might end up speechless/depressed for quite a while.

Can anyone apply for an annual permit or do you need to clear it with your company.

I am starting to wonder... as the company i am going to is also sorting out my visa, good idea or bad idea? You have been very helpful, thanks
Who are you coming to work for?
No on a business visa you can fly out as many times as you wish so that just might be a company thing iam on a business visa and so are three of my friends one being a south african like yourself and we fly out for weekends all the time!
It could be because it is a pain in the bum and alot of paper work for them that they are saying only one exit! But if you have an emergency they you are also allowed

The company i am going to said i can only get one exit permit a year, is that correct or is it for them to decide.
getinandstayin sorry to say but it is not only on a Residence permit but also a business visa. So it really depends on if kelly is coming over to work or to play so to say!
I think i am going on a working visa as the company i am
going to are sorting my visa out, so are there places i
can go or am i stuck in Doha?
you only need an exit permit once you have got a Residence Permit (RP).
