Exit Permit for Husband
I am a retired person who is a resident in Qatar. My residence visa is sponsored by my wife. She is a senior staff in one of the Q companies. I now plan to go back to my country for a brief period and I understand I need an exit permit for this.
Could any one enlighten me about the process of acquiring an exit permit?
1. As I am sponsored by my wife can we apply for the exit visa over the internet? If that is not possible how do we go about it? Where do we get the application form to apply for the same? To which office do we submit the paper application form?
2. Do we need the permission from my wife's employer?
3. How long is an exit permit valid?
TIA
I sponsor my husband and the easiest way is to get a multiple exit visa that lasts for one year. You pay QAR 500 but you can come and go as many times at you like.
It is better if you and your wife go together and take both your papers with you, they will then give you a form to fill in (or do it for you if you get someone helpful :)
I use the immigration office at Hamad Hospital (next to outpatients) as they are usually quicker and more helpful.

You can download the exit permit form from the Moi website. Then you take it - with the sponsor's signature and ID and the traveler's ID, passport and RP - to the office behind the long-term parking lot at the airport. You give them 10 QR (NOT cash) and they give you the exit permit good for SIX days.

My wife's employer always sorts out the exit visa for me.
If you are not working and visited your spouse,do not think Qatari is going to stop you to go your country of residence, unless you did somthing which law of land do not permit.
