The Estimated Time to Extract WORKING VISA

By Free Spirit •
HI everyone,
Just want your help regarding "Working Visa"
I want to know how much time it will take to get the working visa,
I mean after signing the contract with the company, it will start to get that visa for me, and sure it gonna take sometime, But How much time in the Immigration and Passports
to process this visa ?
cos from what i heard recently, it now takes more time than it used to before.
Thanks Saadi for your concern,
For the paper work, I think I have nothing but to push them to hurry with the process.
And for the company itself hope to be as you said and I’ll check again with them to arrange everything.
QBC is our contractor and believe me they are not good in paper work. As far as the company size is concerned then yes it is a big construction firm here.
The company is making money so they should be paying well to their employees but I dont now much about it.
saadi, heero, Thanks Guys for the info.
I guess in this case, I should check with the company about time and tell them to hurry up with the process. And for the company, I had been told that it's big and leading in the construction field, so I think it must be organized in the terms of paper works.
I even asked here in QL about the company, but sadly not getting much response for that,so if someone know something please help me out..

Anyway, Thanks again guys.
Officially the ministry is suppose to take 24 hours or so and they indeed do take very little time to approve the visa. Not more than 4~5 days in any case if ministry has your papers submitted properly by the company.
Depends on how lazy your company can utilize their usual services for their employees...

The ministry does not make much time probably in a day or two provided your company has visa quota. The companies take time in getting the paper work ready and also if they dont have the quota then they need to go through a length process of approvals.
The processing time depends upon the fact that how organised your company is in terms of paper work and how much urgency there is to fill the position.
Hi Free Spirit. I think the Police Clearance Certificate is only for those who are not from the Middle East Countries or from the Gulf States. My new company asked this from me towards the end of the process. The HR from your company probably hasn't had an opportunity to ask you yet. I'm not certain if this is for the company directly or if the Qatari government is asking for this. At any rate, it doesn't hurt to ask your HR.
Good luck!
Hey, Guys
15 days is ok, and Froi-boi, lucky you as you said.I guess so any delay in time will be because of HR Dept. not Immigration itself, and The Clearance Certificate you mentioned, No one has told me about it even the company didnt ask for it, Maybe i dont need it in my case, But I'll check with them again about the required documents.
Thanks alot Mandi and Froi-boi, and luck to all..
I am going through the work-visa process myself. I have been told by the Doha company that it will take about 10 to 15 days to process. I believe this waiting time is the standard. However, I was lucky to receive my work-visa in 7 days. It sounds like as long as the HR is willing to put some effort into processing, the faster you will receive it.
Some unexpected surprises for me were that my new company was asking for a Police Clearance Certificate from the country where my passport is from. In Canada, it would take 2 to 4 weeks to process. I hope you took care of that as well before leaving.
I wish you luck!
Could be a couple of weeks.
