Does a maid have to be from a certain nationality?
I am considering moving back to Qatar next year and need to hire a maid. I am a British national and have an 8 month old baby who needs looking after while I am at work. I have a maid from the Solomon Islands (in the South Pacific) who i have known for years and would love to take her there with me. Does anyone know if I can do this? Cheers.
If ministry of labour approved her visa, why not? If they didn't approve, you have to bring someone else. BTW, you cannot bring the housemaid with you at the same time. First you have to get residence permit,which might take between 15 to 30 days... then you can sponsor your maid. Sometimes after issuing the RP they ask for 3 months bank statements. but this can be solves on the individual basis depends on your position, salary, etc.
