Denying Exit Permit

Hi everyone! My girlfriend is working in Doha, so she got a residence permit and she's under a working visa. What happened is that she found out some sort of vascular disease which is ruining her legs (and she works at a restaurant). She needs to make an operation as soon as possible!! But she has been working there for 3 or 4 months now and the company says that they cannot do anything for her because she MUST complete at least 7 months working. This operation is expensive in Qatar and if the company doesn't help to pay she cannot do it. So the solution is to quit the job and come back to Turkey. BUUUT for my surprise she said it is impossible because they wouldn't give her the EXIT PERMIT... It sounds extremely absurd and nonsense since it's a health issue and it seems that she is locked in the country and in a job she can no longer do it. Sorry for the long text but I hope you guys can gimme some advices!
Thanks everybody for the comments and tips. I hope we can solve this soon... She told me how people there use to deal with this issues and I still can't believe. Good luck for all, God bless you!
Welcome to Qatar..!!
Its ridiculous that company is denying someone exit to qatar even if she wants to quit the job...i think she needs to check the legality of denying exit permit for leaving job...with labour department or with help from her country's embassy in Qatar.
vascular or varicose veins?
ohh my mistake, didnt read the contents clearly
The lady is not suffering from a skin disease but a vascular disease.
Article (82)
If the worker resigns from work because of the sickness and with the approval of the competent physician before the end of the six months to which the worker is entitled as a sick leave with pay the employer shall pay to the worker the balance of his entitlement.
Apart from that obtaining health certificate is mandatory for Food Handlers and no way she will obtain the same, if she is suffering from a skin disease
She should have a health card which means she shouldn't be paying anything for health care - or operations if its a health issue.
Nishant is right, get a medical report from hamad hospital stating the kind of surgery that is required and why it must be done. surgeries in hamad are cheap, it being a govt hospital. If you approach private hospitals then its costly.
take a Hamad Hospital Health Card and contact them about the surgery.
Tell her first contact administration and high management.. if they took action, alright...
else go to Human rights office, at least this is the case she can receive justice..
She can appeal in Court for Justice.
