Hi Qlrs.. I have been offered by a position in QF 3 months back and they have applied visa for me. I havent received the visa yet.
When I ask about it They keep on saying my visa has not been cleared from emigration or some labor issues (dont know exact issue) are there.

they also asssure me that it will be ready in few days but that never happens.

I came to know that employers like Qatar foundation will be performing some checks on me before issuing me visa. is that true ?!

can anyone please tell me what are the formalities and checks that delaying the process...like a bacground check, police history or credit checks ?!!

my employer never asked me any documents other that my final certificate and passport copy

appreciate your help

thanks

Did you get your visa?, because I am in the same situation. The QF applied for my visa from two months ago, and I didn't receive it until now.

I'm invited to work for a research project in texas A&M.

When i contacted them they says its some delay with emigration. bt they are unable to provide details..

one friend of mine in qtar was saying like they may need to check if any qatari would be eligible fr this role n also may need to go through several checks. In addition to police clearance they may check your certificates n credit history which may take time

If you have UK passport, you can get Visa on arrival in Qatar.

A work visa is surrounded by problems such as availabilty to the sponsor, not usually a problem for engineers, but intensely so when someone is caught up in some controversy, e.g. no visas available for Philipina maids apparently now.

What is most likely happening here is that someone wants to appoint you for a job. This must be passed through many departments and approved by all. This takes time, in my case some six months to join a Government Ministry a lot of years ago.

When it comes down to it you will be asked to jump through hoops of getting attested copies of certificates, police clearance certs. etc. Until this happens you are really just waiting. Maybe the job is there, maybe not.

Don't give up the day job until confirmation comes!
