bear the 2 months, however, you may ask a better salary rate... if you really want to go home, i think the ministry of labor can help you.

At my old company, the contact said - up to one year - one month notice, there after 2months.

I think they probably want to to work through Ramadan otherwise they will be short staffed. Technically, the company will be responsible for anytime they keep you over your RP expiration. If they renew its their cost.

I understand that you want to go now, but what the harm if they want to keep you till Septmeber, its only 2months away.

You should have sought legal advice to know your options and what steps are available to you.  The laws here are not so clear cut and logical. The one thing you can count on is that the law has a tendency to side with the sponsor. I assume that you have a signed copy of your labor contract.

According to the law, 30 days notice will be enough and depending on contract you have signed.Try out at Human Right Council at Doha Petrol, Opp. Jeiddah Tower. May be they will help you out. Wish you all the best.
