What about the issue of Profession- does it matter?

You will not get visit visa for 5 years, the validity of visit visa is maximum 6 months, 5 years visa means it is working visa, it will be in your ID Working visit now all the visas are issuing in the same title no Residence visa availble in Qatar, this can be renewed up on request. You can proceed with this visa and dont listen other comments.

be very careful, visit visas are for a visit, not for employment certainly not for 5 years.

In the past it was usual to come on a three month visit visa and complete the sponsorship formalities within this time period. Everyone here working legally needs to be sponsored and this cannot be easily transferred. Coming on a personal servant basis visa is a trap for anyone, you cannot change your profession. Hope you didn't pay for this!

How can he proceed? Does he have a work sponsor? And which companies offer visas over 3 years for work?

If he has a job with a company here, he should have an RP allowing him to work not a "visit/employment visa good for 5 years"

I think the OP should do some investigating to understand the legality of his status rather than asking here.

It is ok. This visa will be converted to Residence visa after your medical examination. Go ahead.

A visit visa does not allow you to work legally. If you do work, you are not entitled to any protection under the labour laws and may be open to prosecution.

In this case, I would consult someone in the legal profession to find out your exact status. You might be liable for fines and deportation.
