hi everybody,

i came to Qatar on business visit visa, sponsored by one company which basically sponsor for money. i have been looking for a job ever since.it is almost one and half months since my entry. i have renewed my visa once. i got a job with a company and have been working for them for about 3 weeks, on promise that they would change the visa to work visa, i have not signed any work contract, no medical or any sort of things were done, only i had signed them a offer letter. the visa they have is technician visa, they want to change it to engineer visa and then process my visa, also i had not given the NOC from the first sponsored company. now i have an offer from another company, and interested in joining them. so would there be a problem if i shift jobs.

expecting your valuable replies

Not at all a problem unless you have signed the contrac. And I dnt think you'll need an NOC.

to smoke- i have the same issue...my present company has provided me a work visa copy which you can see and print on MOI website, but since it is given to me on the first week of may up until now, im not yet having medical and finger printing, and my passport is in their custoddy, now i get a job from a good company which i am interested to join.. my present company doesnt want to give me an NOC, instead they told me since i dont have a QATAR ID/PATAKA/IQAMA, they will cancel my visa and i need to exit... is this possible or i just go there and ask to get my visa and signed contract to this new company??? thanks for the soonest reply...

See from what i understand in your case, they are first trying to get you a engineer's visa which might be taking time to convert depending on your company's quota for visas. Secondly unless you do your medicals and clear the finger printing you will not be under their sponsorship, you will NOT be able to go for medicals or finger printing until they get you the engineer's visa. so you see its all inter connected :P

Best option is ask for your passport back and tell them you are quitting..no need to make excuses or anything.

so wat reason must i produce to get relieved from the present company, according to the description given above, i dont think they have started processing anything by my name, and when inquired about my visa, all they replied was the change of visa is under process, but how can they process if i havent given any NOC from my original sponsor, are they meaning that they are changing the technician visa to engineer visa? THEY ARE NOT CLARIFYING ANYTHING, and as of now no accommodation also have been provided yet, im staying of my own.

Nope should not be a problem as they need that to process your visa...since the visa has not been processed YET, you still have the chance to leave, but make sure the new company has a visa in hand for you before you shift.

From what i know, if your original business sponsor can give you a NOC then there should not be any problem for you to leave the present job and join the new job. As you said you have not signed any contract nor have you done medicals or finger prints.
