I think if you have profession as engineer in your ID and your bank statement and all other papers are inline then they will give you family status with out interview, and sometimes if your profession is a lower profession they might call you for an interview.

No need to change the visa for bringing family. Salary criteria is required to be fulfilled. however, it is always beneficial to change your visa status.

As you are an Engineer by profession I assume that you will not be having a visa of a low income employee. As Sonia asked, what is your profession in your visa? You should be a good salaried person who will be able to look after your family decently. The minimum salary bracket I think is Qr. 7000/- for applying the family visa and a person who can get a salary of Qr. 7000/- will not be a driver or a labourer.

Which category of visa u have then??If it will be of very low post, then my frd, i fear it will be a pblm for u..I m telling u this coz my hubby is a chemical engr but his company made visa of his in another category..He faced pblm in calling me till his company changed his visa to the correct level..I mean ENGINEER level..So better check with the authorities well or wait for others to reply u properly..
