DEAR FRIENDS
MY KID WANT TO TRAVEL FROM INDIA TO QATAR. SHE IS NOW 80 DAYS OLD. IS ANY VISA REQUIRED FOR MY KID , IF SHE TRAVEL BFORE 90 DAYS. HER PARENTS HAVE VALID VISA.ONE OF MY FRIEND TOLD ME ,NOW AFTER 2 MONTHS KIDS NEED VISA.. IS IT TRUE? PLS ADVICE.
THANKS
I went thru MOI web site. If you read correctly, it did not say that visa is not required. It says visa is granted FREE. So I would interpret that yes visa is required but it will be free.
The baby needs a visa, believe me! i just returned from my country where my baby was born. Before living for my country to bring my wife and newborn I went to Airport passports office and they sent me to main passports office in Garafah.
Qatar law states that if the baby is no older than 2 years, doesn't need a visa, BUT that's only valid for the people at Garafah passports, as for the airport immigration personal they don't care about the law and do ask for a visa if the baby is older than 3 months!!
Don't ask me why, well, an officer with one or two stars at garafah told me it was because airport personal are always messing with them !? are we talking about two governments here?? anyway, you have to get a visa for the baby, where I don't know...I tried getting it (for this specific situation) and nobody accepted my application!
I do believe that you should get him a visit visa first which you will later change to Iqamah.
We have presentation with official person from minister of interrior today,in swiss be hotel, if baby less than 2 years is not require visa. I asked also for the copy of presentation, once i get the copyi will send you. There are a lot of information i am getting today from the presentation

Within 90 days you can bring your kid without visa, but after that it is risky, My knowledge and experiance is only 90 days.

Just heard the presentation on the new immigration law to my community this morning.
NO, a baby born outside Qatar does not need any visa until he/she is 2 years old (an improvement from old law where the cut off is 3 months).
However please check the MOI web or call/email them (details on their web) just to make sure.
Cheers
