After Family gets 2 yr residence visa, what next ?

My wife and son have just got their 2 yr visa issued. What is the next step towards obtaining the ID card for my wife ?

She had undergone medicals immediately after entry in january. Does she have to go through it again now ? else, can we go ahead for finger printing ?

any guidance will help. thanks
