thanks Rohit....I can take care of housing even if the company doesnt provide me...the only concern is the possibility of getting my husband under my sponsorship...as my company is not willing to provide me family status as I was locally recruited in Doha when i had come to visit my sister...other colleagues male/female on my grade enjoys family sponsorship..my company provides family status and other benefits if they recruit the staff from their home country...

hi fh218, a lady can certainly sponsor her spouse & kid(s), all your employer can do is withdraw the company accommodation facility & you need to self arrange the same. Now here, 2 cases: 1. The employer will compensate the HRA (may or may not be on actuals, in most cases lesser than the actuals) 2. You need to self pay for the accommodation (family including you) since in most organizations, accommodation is considered as a 'benefit' which is entirely different from compensation. Its based on the principle of 'either you avail it or you leave it', sharing the same since I am from HR background.

Negotiate well, all the best

Regards,

Rohit

as per law:

clause 21 of rule no. 4 of 2009

"for organizing entrance and exit of expats and their residence and their sponsorship"

- expat woman coming for the purpose of work CAN bring her husband based on the conditions which will be defined & issued by the minister

SO the question is: what are the conditions!? we don't know

therefore, nobody can give 100% absolute answer, u have to apply then wait for the interview then pray for good.

I know a female doctor working in HMC and her husband is under her sponsorship, also i know one female admin manager trying so hard to bring her husband but couldn't (but he came finally by visit visa 6 month)

a letter from the lady's sponsor is required before applying and generally wife can't sponsor husband but she can sponsor kids (exceptionally)

wife can sponsor husband in very rare cases where she is working in a very high position and with a request from her sponsor
