From what I hear, usually a case does not get decided on the first or second hearing and it takes the court several months for it to give a verdict.
Several years back, a Sudanese tried to cheat me out of my money. He even mocked that he new all the ways and laws and that I could do nothing. When I went to the court, I learnt from someone there that is was important for the complainant (plaintiff) to be present on all dates of the hearing otherwise the case would collapse. The other side could stay away from the hearings citing many reasons one of them being ill. I do not know how far this is true. Suggest, you visit the court someday. Usually, there are some lawyers hanging around there looking for clients. May be one of them could advise you better. Or if you can get hold of someone who works in the court, he could also guide you.
