I guess your expectations may be a bit too high.
I am saying this because I too hold a Masters and have over 20 year's first-hand working experience in the field of supply chain management. I have worked at major industrial and commercial organizations in the ME. I had set up from ground-level the procurement and warehousing sections of a major industrial plant when it was under construction and successfully managed both the departments for several years. But then, I come from the eastern part of the world and am brown-skinned. Possibly, because of this, I could never draw something even close to 20K as a complete package.
But then, as I had stated earlier, you are a westerner and Qatar Airways is huge company. For a westerner in the ME, the sky is the limit when it comes to salary and perks at jobs. Qatar Airways must be having a salary bracket for this post and you can just try out your luck asking for the figure you have in mind, or even higher. It all depends how well you can negotiate during your interview.
You sure have an advantage over people from countries in the East or Africa simply because of your passport. I have rubbed shoulders during my working career with people from the west who were not worth 2 cents, yet were basking in the glory of the Mideast sunshine.
The view that generally prevails here is: The white man is the right man.
Best of luck in your interview.
