Since accommodation is costly, many workers living here on single status, usually live on shared- basis, sometimes four persons to a room. A person living on bachelor status can manage his food and miscellaneous expenses for around QR 1000 per month.
Getting hold of driving license requires you to attend a driving school and pass the tests conducted by the authorities. Not all categories of workers are entitled to a driver's license. The city has a regular bus service which covers almost all parts of the city. One can travel on the bus for as low as QR 2.50 per trip. Taxis are available in abundance.
The summers are hot especially the months of June, July and August when it is both hot and humid. Winters are mildly cold. The country does not receive much rain.
