Just over a decade back, I worked at an industrial plant where a British mechanical engineer would buy anything (repeat 'anything") manufactured in Great Britain. He forced the purchase of "Rocol" brand products which were manufactured in GB and needed to be imported by the company, rather than allow the purchase it's equivalent WD-40 which was easily available in the local market. A can of Rocol product equivalent to WD-40 cost the company 22 Riyals then compared to WD-40 which costed 10 Riyals.
