Mary Catherine is absolutely wrong in stating that Asians are "poorly trained." She has little or no idea of how many Asians are working in Doha and in ME countries with many of them being well- qualified in their field of work. Asians form the backbone of the workforce in the ME and this has been the case for several decades now. No government or company or owners would take the risks of allowing unqualified, poorly-trained people to handle the construction or operation of their multi-billion riyal projects or plants. Just as an example to Ms Catherine, in 1986 a new, major gas production plant in Jubail S Arabia came into operation. It had 80% workers from Asia and 18% Saudis managing its operations and maintenance. The plant had just three British engineers with one of them getting kicked out at the time of renewal of his first contract due to his under-the-table dealings with contractors and suppliers.
Mary is right in saying that Asians get poorly paid compared to westerners for the same jobs. The major reason for this being Asian workers "accept" terms of contract offered to them while western workers "dictate" terms of contract offered to them. Asian workers come from countries where the costs of living are low and the job situation is very tight. As such, they are "accept" whatever is being offered. On the contrary, western workers come here on "their own terms."
Agreeing with Mary Catherine, I suggest you try to make the best of the opportunities coming your way in your own country. You may find it difficult here to get the salary you want should you be able to find a job with your qualification and in your line of work.
Asians are professionally qualified people and know their jobs. Just compare the English in your post to that of mine. And English is your n-a-t-i-v-e language! Do you feel I am a qualified person?
I am from Asia!
