Brit: Makkah and Medina are crowded cities during the holy month of Ramadan. The aim of terrorist is not just to cause material damage, but to kill as many people as they can. Also, with Eid around the corner, possibly they want to create a sense of fear among the Muslims who would go to the Prophet's mosque in large numbers for Eid prayers, and put additional pressure on security agencies to prevent such attacks from taking place.

From the past incidents in a country like Pakistan which has faced innumerable terrorist attacks, terrorists have targeted churches, mosques, schools, bazaars, etc. which are termed as "soft targets." The sole aim is to kill and maim as many people as possible and create an atmosphere of fear among the Muslims.

Those behind this terrible act of terrorism are misguided and wrong in their thinking. Muslims from across the world will fearlessly go to the Prophet's mosque on any day of the year. The love of the Prophet will take them there without they caring for their lives, and that includes me as well.
