Donald Trump has openly used religion as a platform for gaining popularity and gathering support. He has publicly gone on a Muslim-bashing spree and created an atmosphere of Islamophobia in a country where it did not exist earlier. I cannot recall any other presidential election race over the last five decades in the US where any religion let alone Islam, was used as a tool for garnering votes. The earlier elections saw candidates who had a lot of grey matter in their heads and many constructions plans to give to the nation rather than hatred. Trump has set a dangerous precedent. I wonder what the world would be like should this bigot become the next US President. Would he become the architect of a major "visible" split between Christianity and Islam? Will he usher an era where Muslims will be forced to join hands and form new groups against Christians and which then get labelled a "terrorists?" Trump has been violently shaking the foundations of world peace and it's better he stay at his Manhattan Penthouse on Trump Tower rather than at the White House.
