After 6 months, you can apply for change in sponsorship and chances are you will get it. If you will go back to india and cancel this RP, you will not be able to come back for 2 years on a new RP.

Better to try to transfer to new company. There is this option of 'lending' on RP transfer form which let you do it between 6 months to 12 months. After one year, you can transfer it completely.
