i suggest you visit:
1) the Tristar garage, street 24, gate 242 - let them check the car and see what they say...its possible its only a minor repair like a solenoid or something and your own box can hopefully be fixed much cheaper...its a professional garage with trained technicians and diagnostics equipment...
2) Dhaka garage, street 10: they are apparently transmission specialists and my mechanic in doha sends all his customers there...they fix even the most violently abused Land Cruisers so I'd definitely check them out...
3) A-plus Service Center - Street 19 or 19 - look for Ajeyan...a very friendly and honest mechanic who runs the place and should be able to help...his number is 55395466...
these three places should all confirm what the dealership told you, only then do you believe what the dealer told you...dealerships are mockingly called 'stealerships' for a reason and when things go wrong, they are of the least help...the smiles turn to frowns the moment its their turn to spend some money for or help you, the customer...
now, if the gearbox really is toast and if they say its better to replace than repair your own gearbox (im almost sure they will never say that) then you go to the next step below:
1) japan scrap yard - street 18 or 19...these guys deal only in japanese car parts and should have a good box for you...
2) al borooj scrap yard - also street 18 or 19 (the signboard is in arabic so hope you can read) - this place has engines and gearboxes imported from japan and is your best bet for a decent replacement gearbox...
I am shell shocked though that a camry trans has failed so soon...how many kilometers on the car? are you the only driver of the car? do you have the very common habit of shifting to reverse from drive and from drive to reverse while the car is still rolling slowly backwards or forwards? I'm not accusing you of being the problem...just trying to understand the scene...camry boxes and engines that fail are usually in karwa taxis that are pretty much raped by 2-3 different drivers daily for 2-3 years non stop.
best of luck, you'll need it for a headache like this...
