There are several things: Why do you want to look fair? Does beauty demand a person to be fair- skinned? I don't think so. Just look at the most of the African states. Beauty also exists there even though most of the people are not fair-skinned. It is all a concept of the mind. I firmly believe that beauty in its natural form, is true beauty. Trying to change natural, physical qualities of the skin through the use of artificial chemical-based products, will only result in damages. If these products that are advertised that claim to make you look fairer would be working well, all females would be looking fairer -- including those in many countries of Africa.
