In the 90s I read in the Arab News about a beggar in Cairo who sat near an important tourist destination. He wore a cast on his fractured legs. It was during one those evenings a policeman spotted this beggar making a call over his mobile (a costly item in those days) that suspicion arose. The policeman discretely followed the beggar to his home. When he knocked at the door some moments after the beggar had entered the house, the same "beggar" standing on two healthy legs opened the door. A further inspection of his house revealed he had around 90,000 dollars stashed in cash which he had accumulated through his "business." When questioned by the police on the call he had made, the "beggar" replied he was just informing his wife to ready the meal as he was on his way home after the day's work!
