Any time there is a problem with the A/C compressor, the evaporator should also be changed. In fact it is required to do this for warranty coverage on replacement compressors. The reason is that when a compressor fails it will allow debris to enter the cooling system (metal shavings) and if the evaporator is not changed as well as inline filter and flushing the entire system, you will have a very short lived new compressor. Evaporators aren't expensive, and are not hard to replace.
