I have been driving for two decades and also have a Saudi driving license. This license is now no good as it has expired and as such not recognized any more here in Qatar. I have behind the wheel for so many years but I too was asked to take "training" at a driving school. I did not bother. I use the Karwa bus service regularly, and taxi service if the situation demands.
