I was informed there is a restriction imposed on renual of driving licence also. We have a known person who works as secretary, whose licence was not renued as they do not want secretary to drive. The authoritys feel that this measure will reduce traffic conjustion.
I personally feel the authority must insist on all companys to issue letters to all those who need to travel for work and also a salary criteria that determins the permit to have a driving licenece and not what profession is mentioned in your VISA. Any position from a SUPERVIOR must be elegiable for driving licenec , with company letter, minimum salary level could be the criteria.
