Couple of responses: EC is a developing campus, the schools tend to be somewhat self-contained. And yes, you will miss out on professional development except perhaps for European conferences. I'm gonna ball-parrk the figure at around $40,000/yr plus housing, medical, transport allowance, etc. Your benefits package will be US standard. Your housing will be with faculty. Doha is VERY expensive but your EC employment will somewhat mitigate this. You social life will be mostly with other students, there is a recreation center and the cafeteria is cheap.
