I apologize in advance for the long read but this is an interesting topic for me lol
For men, having tunnel vision usually means that they can see well into the distance which helps them anticipate road conditions/changes resulting in less "highway accidents"....BUT....BUT.....that ALSO means that they don't notice what r known in defensive driving as "snipers"....cars suddenly coming into the way from turns, other lanes and intersections...so that's a major cause of men getting into accidents....what's funny is that the number one cause of accidents for men is statistically over confidence!!!!
Meanwhile ladies do have better peripheral vision like I said so they do not get into "sniper" type accidents but they themselves r considered common snipers because they assume that others can "see and notice" all the things they do, in turn it causes accidents.
There's one other MAJOR cause for women to have accident "and a common married couple fight hehehe". Ability to read coordinated. As hunters/gatherers, men were travelers, with tunnel vision and limited hearing ability, as such they learned to find their way thru coordinates and distant signs "sun, moon, stars". So, now a day Men establish direction by coordinates "N, S, E, W" while women were defenders of the living area, protectors of the household against animals, other humans, and so they only developed wider peripheral vision that can identify immediate danger, so women identified direction by sight only....this has lead to the ability of men to read maps better by it's coordinates while women would read maps by a single directions "north forward" and have to rotate the map as they drive along, and that's also why women like to drive with the GPS on and in driving mode "North Forward", while men generally turn it off or turn it into a map mode "True North"....with that in mind, women identify their way by physical signs, not coordinates and need to observe them more attentively, combine that with a slower reaction time and u got urself an accident.
