Today she is a proud single mom and her son, my beloved nephew, a much loved member of our entire family. My sister has, and is still, sacrificing much due to her decision, but I'd say the rewards are certainly outweighing them all. Of course not everyone can do what she did, just as not everyone can do what the mom in the OP did. To each their own!
