I'm Indian and look Indian, but spent the last 10 years of my life in the UK. I am single and wander around the souq, katara, malls and walk into all 5 star hotels frequently and have never been stopped let alone even looked at.

its your appearance. I look like a western expat in my demeanour and the way I dress.

There is racism, but its not the colour of skin, IT IS how rich you look and what you drive. If you drive an expensive car and wear shorts and slippers and walk into the four seasons or anywhere else, even if you look asian you have no problem, from experience.

Quite frankly for certain places, that type of discrimination is required and acceptable, anywhere in the world in my opinion.
