that is a thru fact,.but it runs op with the purity of the material
i.e. sink protects brass,steel and alu.
because its less "pure" there fore it will corode faster and protect above mentioned materials,.it needs to be bare flush mounted on the material to be proteced.

just look on any outboard engine and or boat propshaft and you will see sink anodes mounted
