Meet ups ended about a year and a half ago. People just stopped turning up to them. Anything I said I was going to attend, I attended. But with just one day a week off and evening work, I ran out of leisure time. But I turned up to things I said I would. However too many people were putting their names down for gatherings and then not turning up.
The last memorable event I went to was a fabulous Halloween party thrown by UKeng back in 2010. But subsequent coffee meets started getting attended by less and less people. DaRuDe is still organising stuff, but I haven't managed to get to anything now for almost 2 years. Smoke has his pool group alive and kicking, with regular meet ups. And my now defunct photo group always had a good turn out. Why not join a group? Or there seems to plenty of fresh blood on the site now. Not on this thread, but on a new one, why doesn't someone try and get a coffee meet going?
