and i'd just like to say..i appreciate your sentiments and dying for your son is ok but killing others is not unless they are trying to kill your son god forbid..sure you didn't really mean that but yeah..
and you know, i feel when god puts you through these trials and losses, its actually a blessing in the sense that a much bigger misfortune is averted for you..like maybe god spares you illness, death or other more profound pain..its just a small thing i feel..the non religious folk will laugh when they read that but yeah there you go..so if you do have to pay the 6k, just think of it as a penance/trade off for god forbid something much worse..best of luck..
and if ever your kid is ill again, be sensible and call 999..those guys will be there faster than you could ever be and will know what to do much better than you:-)
