I don't understand the men holding hands thing. To me it just looks so wrong for straight men to be indulging in such physical contact.
That said; Those participating in hand holding, obviously don't have a problem with it. In fact it would appear that for them it is completely normal and not something that needs a second glance. In my school in England when I was growing up, if any boys had ever been seen holding hands (which simply never happened) they would have been torn to shreds and bullied out of the school. But I am guessing the culture of those we see holding hands on the streets here in Qatar, is a culture where it is something practiced while growing up.
