So today I have transfered most of my account balance abroad. My credit card is in credit so I will withdraw this.
Once the cash has reached my home bank account then I will close the credit card account.
I will then get paid my monthly salary (which is my credit card limit) on the 30th which I am presuming they will freeze in the account. On top of that I will get my final pay on the 9th.
Do you think the bank will give me a clearance certificate if I have this money frozen as a guarantee? I presume I can have this money transferred to me later.
Is it usual for 45 days that they wait from cancellation. I was hoping for 30 days so I can leave the country as quickly as possible after my 30 days notice. ps I am with CBQ
Too many questions.
pps. In their t&c they say "You may terminate the Card facility upon thirty (30) days written notice to us.
Termination by you shall only be effective from expiry of the thirty day notice period and shall
be conditional on return of the Card to us and full and final settlement of your liabilities
under the Card". SO I AM HOPEFUL!
Thanks for the advice.
