This is the advice given by our Prophet himself. Breaking things? Err...not good! Specially if you have kids, cos they may learn violence from your actions. If you don't have kids..well then now's a good time to kick your habit!
As for me, I am not easily angered, AlHamdulillah. Not anymore!
When I find myself even getting there I do seek refuge in God from the devil, and just do everything I can to keep calm, even leaving the room/conversation/person etc that's causing me to lose it!
Anger is something so hard on us,really. I've seen many people, even very dear to me, getting into such horrible situations and losing much dignity and self respect due to their tempers and verbal tirades when angry. Often you can say and do such terrible things when all heated up, that once you are calm, you will truly repent and regret for ages after that.
Finally I love this saying on anger:
" The strong man is not the good wrestler; the strong man is only the one who controls himself when he is angry" -Muhammad(Peace be upon him)
