The Quran states clearly that it is lawful for a Muslim man to marry any lady from among the people of the book(Jews and Christians) provided they are chaste and don't have boyfriends(meaning they don't sleep around/are not adulterous). This is what I meant to say. Cos many Non Muslims and indeed some Muslims are unaware of this fact.
I understand though what you mean. Yes..in many countries the world over, laws, be they religious or of the land, are often bent, twisted and even omitted for the better off folk...sad but true!
