Hi !

Your concern is very normal. It is tough on job seekers in Qatar. Especially the ones who come on visit visa and have a dead line to finish searching for the job.

Almost all postings you might see on job portals are genuine. Well, atleast the reputed job portals. Firms have to pay such portals to post ads. So, i doubt wether they will post a job ad without the actual position being present. Getting selected by applying to them, however, is a different ball game. Many factors contribute to this including the visas available for applying candidates, years of experience, exact technical fit etc. etc. Add to this the fact that around 300 applicants might apply to the same post. All in all - if the recruitment representative shortlisting your application does not have the right selection criteria in his mind, he will end up rejecting many potential candidates. Sadly, many jobs still are "wasta" influenced and no matter how qualified you are, the job might go to a person who knows someone who knows another one who knows the other one.

The trick is, keep tring. Dont back down. Go personally to the firms and give them a hard copy. Try other mediums. Try arabic classifieds. Try improving your CV. As a job-seeker your options are never ending to obtain sucess.

Good luck !
