The unaccompanied baggage allowance will be for a limited amount of weight for you, based on the company standards.
You will have to approach a well known cargo service in the USA, and keep all the effects ready to be shipped such that they arrive here only after you arrive in Qatar.
It will be better to approach a reputed international cargo company rather than mail, as the personal effects will be dealt with a bit better.
Once you approach the Intl. cargo agent, they will (and should) guide you on the customs procedures and necessary documentation.
You may have to retain the Airway Bill so that you can claim the same from Qatar Airways cargo office, in case such an arrangement is made.
