Whew, yeah, August in the heat and during Ramadan. That's NOT a good time to run around and shop. I know, I've done it. Nothing can be found cheaply or easily in Doha. You usually spend three times the amount of energy and time finding something that you would at home. Store inventory is whimsical at best. Goods are often second-rate. Either send your husband a month or so early and have him get everything set up - and do all the paperwork - or send everything and just stay indoors until October.
