I was engaged in a great conversation with a Qatari(in his thobe) over a few pints in a resturant/bar only this Thursday night.

An intelligent, UK degree, middle-aged, influental Qatari - he was of the opinion that the government over-reacts to the slightest complaint from the conservative/reactionary forces and that people who misbehave with alcohol then the individuals(both Qatari and expat)should be accountable, not everyone else penalised.

We arranged to meet later in the coming months for further chats.........and over a few pints.
