I agree with OmLayla...also try to get a seat in the cot rows so you have more space for your child to move around a bit. Bring favourite snacks or maybe treats to encourage him/her to sit at take off and landing, bribery usually works. It will also ensure your child's ears don't hurt if they are chewing at these times. Take a new toy which they've never seen before or not played with in a long time so he/she is excited and it will amuse them for longer. My little boy has been flying with me since he was 8 weeks old and absolutely loves it - make it as fun as possible. Night flights are definitely the way to go, they sleep all the way through.
