understand the visa thing. Did I say the husband will not work for the company?

I have a woman colleague working as QS in our company longer than I am. The time comes she wants her husband to come to Doha and she wanted to sponsor him but she is not entitled. Since she is a very important employee (because of her assignment), our company agreed to sponsor her husband and gave him a working visa. Is there an illegal thing there?
