Punishing is fine,brother, but not in a manner that contradicts the Quran and Sunnah(I am assuming you are a Muslim,if not correct me)Are you suggesting the teachers of India(and even Sri Lanka for that matter) know better about disciplining kids than Allah and His messenger? There are plenty of ways to punish kids, in accordance to our religion, that is far more effective than slapping their faces!
